What is the move process? The entire move process allows you to receive your subsidy as quickly as possible at your new unit. The Section 8 caseworkers hope this will enable you to have a smooth transition through your moving process. It is our goal the following information will enable you to understand the entire process more clearly so you may start receiving your subsidy as quickly as possible.
After 1 full year in your current unit, you may decide to move. You must:
• give 30 (thirty) day written notice to your current landlord,
• give a copy of your notice to your caseworker,
• submit proof of any and all income and assets and any out of pocket expenses such as daycare expenses, prescription costs, medical copays.
Once you have completed these steps, you can now be invited to a briefing.
